The City of Newark's Caribbean Commission and the Guyana Flag Raising Planning Committee - Newark invites you to celebrate Guyana's 58th Independence Anniversary! Enjoy refreshments and cultural performances as we raise the Guyana flag in the City of Newark. While celebrating Guyanese culture we will also honor a group of selected individuals for their Guyanese Heritage and/or their contributions to the Diaspora. Meet our keynote speaker Dr. Renai Kraytem, a mental health professional in the state of New Jersey. She will provide insight into the importance of balancing mental health while overcoming adversity and uncertainty.
