Free Summer Tennis Camp for Kids and Teens!

Teens and children aged 7 to 18 in the Greater Newark area are invited to join a FREE summer tennis camp operated by Greater Newark Tennis and Education (GNTE), a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access and opportunities to learn and play tennis and encourage lifelong fitness. Absolute beginners through advanced players are welcome to come to camp at the Althea Gibson Tennis Center in Branch Brook Park, Newark, Monday to Thursday evenings from July 8 through August 15. Sessions begin at 5:30 with a fun half-hour educational program, operated by Seton Hall University, designed to build confidence, social skills, life skills, and meet new friends. From 6:00-8:00, participants receive group instruction from a team of coaches plus opportunities to play the game. Campers should wear sneakers (no open-toed shoes) and bring a water bottle labeled with their name. Rackets will be available for those who do not have one. Several special events take place during the season, which culminates with a free group trip to Arthur Ashe Kids Day at the US Open in NYC.
